I think most of us remember the days of dial-up internet access, when it could take minutes to load a webpage. Thanks to high speed internet, those days are long gone and most websites load in a matter of seconds. However, I’m sure most of us out there still come across the occasional website that takes an abnormally long time to load. Page speed is measured on a scale of 100. To give you an idea how some of the major websites measure up, Facebook scores with a near perfect 98/100 and Amazon scores with an impressive 91/100. Google’s PageSpeed Insights can help you determine your site’s page speed.
While it can be easy to obsess over obtaining that perfect 100, your site should at least try and achieve an 80 or higher. However, no matter what your score, there may be steps to take to further improve your page speed.
